Problem Child

My journey into parenthood

Well, I haven't written for a while but a lot seems to have happened. Above all the baby is 17 weeks old and seems to be doing well. Puja is getting bigger by the day and you can see her belly show very clearly now. She is feeling generally pretty good. The amazing mind victory that she has achieved over her back pain is quite unbelievable. From waking up in pain everyday and complain and feeling terrible all day she has gone to become more or less completely pain free -- just because she decided to believe in this technique. It is quite an achievement.

Apart from that -- we argue at all times about how we want to raise the kid. Both wanting the best but defining the best from different perspectives and of course each feeling that they are right.

We are also arguing all the time about whether we should discover the baby's sex before it is born. Puja does not want to do it and I do. She is dreamy eyed about the surprise but I am practical and want to know how I can be ready for the outcome. Knowing what to do with the name and the color of the room and so on. I think we are going for the surprise at this point. I want her to feel comfortable with whatever decision we make.

The other issue is baby names or rather just names (the name is going to live forever with them!.) It is hard to make up ones mind. You want it to be somewhat unique and you want it to be short and sweet and reasonably easy to pronounce -- even for slippery American tongues.
